Work out with your dog and you both benefit

For many, the monotony of exercise may discourage having a fitness routine. Whether it’s running around a local track or at the local gym, the lack of variety can seem bleak or boring. Thankfully, however, changing things up in your workout is easy. As well, it is entirely in your own hands. In fact, the popular and beneficial option of working out with your very own dog is often a great way to accomplish this.

There are many different methods of incorporating your dog into your exercise - anything from active games of fetching the frisbee, to even swimming, or hiking. The dog is the workout partner everyone seeks, one always excited and ready for any challenge.

When you begin working out with your dog, either for longer walk sessions, or jogging or running, you establish a healthy trend for you both. This change could potentially make your workout feel more fun and more interactive, and allow for your dog to get rid of excess energy. In fact, many breeds even excel in this type of activity, especially those with high energy, such as active dog breeds like border collies, greyhounds, Jack Russell terriers, and German Shepherds. With this part of your own workout, you will be helping your dog to live a healthier life as well as making you healthier as well. This should motivate you to continue.
